INGREDIENTS

  • 1 small onion divided
  • 2 plum tomatoes cut in wedges
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • ½ c dill pickles (diced)
  • ¾ c ketchup
  • 1 T yellow mustard
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 8 cups thinly sliced green leaf lettuce
  • hamburger buns (sliced)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Brown ground beef – drain.
  • Slice onion in half – dice 1 of the halves, cut the other half into rings & set aside.
  • Add ketchup, mustard, pickles and diced onions to browned ground beef.
  • Heat through.
  • Layer lettuce, beef mixture, onion, cheese & tomatoes.
  • Serve with sliced, toasted hamburger buns.
