INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ cup shortening
  • ¾ cup cold milk

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Mix flour, cake flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt (you don’t have to sift).
  • Cut in shortening until the size of peas.
  • Add milk and mix well; the dough will be soft.
  • Flour a board lightly and roll out the dough 1/2 in thick.
  • Cut into biscuits and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes or until risen and golden brown.
