INGREDIENTS

  • 8 slices bread (toasted)
  • ½ can petite tomatoes (mashed)
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • 1 small box of raisins
  • ½ c chopped pecans (or preferred nuts)
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1 T finely chopped onions
  • ½ c sugar
  • 1 T margarine or oil
  • 1 ½ c water

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Toast bread.
  • Place 4 slices of toast in a baking dish.
  • Top with cheese slices.
  • Sprinkle with pecans (any nuts will work) & raisins.
  • Repeat – place 4 slices of toast layered over first four slices.
  • Top with cheese slices.
  • Sprinkle with pecans (any nuts will work) & raisins.
  • When syrup is ready, pour over prepared bread.
  • Bake in oven to melt cheese.
  • Serve with cream, ice cream or canned milk.
